The biggest salmonid species in Lake Ontario. We are proud to have caught a 30.1lb Chinook in 2022 and made several placements in the GOSD and SCGFA salmon derbies.
Coho salmons are smaller than Chinooks (on average 5-10 lbs) through several 20+ lb cohos were caught in recent years. They are fun to catch and make a great dinner.
Atlantic Salmon is a rare native fish to Lake Ontario that has been re-introduced in the last few decades. We usually release them back into the lake for continuing growth.
Brown trouts are are opportunistic feeders. They typically reside in proximity to rivers since they feed on fish eggs, small fish/swimming mammals, aquatic invertebrates etc. They feature a distinct color-dot pattern and are good fighters.
Rainbow trout is a great dinner fish with a mild, delicate taste, and a nutrient-dense protein package: selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins D and B12. Typically reaches similar sizes as Coho salmon with some rare 20+ lb fish caught in the recent years.
Lake Trout, sometimes also called a freshwater char, is the largest of the char family. It is a native fish in North America's Great Lakes and prefer cold, oxygen-rich waters. We primarily catch it during spring and early summer fishing in Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
Walleye, also known as pickerel, is a freshwater fish from the perch family. Typical Lake Erie walleyes are under 10 lbs.
We typically target Lake Ontario walleye later in the fall in the east end of the lake. The walleyes are bigger than those of Lake Erie and can reach 15 lbs.
